The Queensland Government’s announcement of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Delivery Plan has delivered a major win for the Sunshine Coast, particularly for the Maroochydore City Centre, which is set to become the heart of a new Olympic and Paralympic arena, athlete’s village and cultural precinct.

The City Centre will come alive with the Horizon Centre Precinct by Walker, a vibrant hub set to host Olympic events while delivering a lasting legacy through a new dining and entertainment district. Long after 2032, it will continue to be a stage for major concerts, events and community experience.

A game-changing public transport initiative, ‘The Wave’, has also been revealed. This new metro service will connect Beerwah to Sunshine Coast Airport, running directly through Maroochydore City Centre and linking residents of SOL by Walker to key destinations across the Coast and Brisbane.
